OBAMA LEAVES TRINITY

LOOKS LIKE OBAMA IS ALREADY DELIVERING ON HIS PROMISE OF CHANGE. BY CHANGING HIMSELF. BARACK OBAMA RESIGNED HIS MEMBERSHIP FROM HIS CHURCH IN CHICAGO. AFTER FATEHR MICHAEL PFLEGER DELIVERED THAT ANTI - HILLARY RANT ON THE PULPIT BARACK HAD TO LEAVE. TOO BAD. I WAS HOPING THAT OBAMA WOULD SAY THAT PEOPLE CAN BE OF THE SAME CHURCH AND HAVE DIFFERENT BELIEFS BUT LET'S FACE IT, THE AMERICAN VOTERS, ESPECIALLY HILLBILLIES AREN'T SMART ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THAT. AND SINCE AMERICA HAS A LARGE AMOUNT OF HILLBILLIES THAT DON'T LIKE SHOES, TEETH OR ARGUMENTS THAT AREN'T BLACK OR WHITE OBAMA HAD TO QUIT. IT WAS THE BEST THING FOR EVERYBODY. ESPECIALLY TRINITY. LET THEM WORSHIP THE WAY THEY WANT TO AND HAVE THE GUESTS THAT THEY WANT TO HAVE. THE PASTOR, CONGREGATION AND POTENTIAL GUESTS SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WHAT MIGHT BE TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT AND PUT ON YOUTUBE THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. I HOPE THE PRESS DOESN'T PRESSURE OBAMA TO RESIGN FROM THE BLACK RACE NEXT.

I think Obama was right to leave Trinity. Father Wright got caught up in the political game and Obama doesn't need any players...he needs leaders that know how to stay in their lane. Obama knows the game and is playing it very well. Damn...don't think church folks don't like a little bling;)

I want you to imagine me saying this with my strongest Bonita Buttrell impersonation: I loves me some Obama. Better not nobody talk bad about Obama! But...like Gus Gus said, I want a leader that is going to stand for something before he gets into office so I know what he's going to do when he gets there. I think he has brilliantly played the game in terms of avoiding discussions of his race, and making it a non issue, but when you leave the church you were a member of for 20 years, the church of the man that officiated over your wedding, and the baptisms of your children, the church in whose pews you sat on Sunday mornings and listened to this same rhetoric when you didn't have a campaign to think about; then I believe you are starting to desert those that have stood beside you despite your own shortcomings. If he really didn't agree with all this "divisive" speech, he would have been sitting in a white church for the past 20 years.

This hurt me deeply, because I wondered how much will this country that he (and I for that matter) love so much chip away at the core of who he is, and make him a commodified shell? The political game is different, all of your affiliations are exploited, warped, narrated to market an agenda... I don't think he is letting go of the strength for change and identity that the church might have helped nurture in him. He was smart to get this far, and I would hope the church blesses him and understands what had to be done. But I did ask what Roc B asks, would you have him resign from his race too? Keep going Obama. Don't let anything hold you down!
