alot of people don't know Lee Atwater but they have heard of willie horton. lee atwater was the first of the republican spin masters. the first that knew that in order to win a race you never talk about issues you just assassinate the character of your opponents. he was the guy that taught the other supervillain hall of famer of the republican party, karl rove everything he knew. frontline ran a wonderful documentary on the life of this man. it was called bogey man but it should have been called, Karma. at the end of the documentary it shows lee atwater dying from a brain tumor and puffed out looking. he was the dark jedi of the republican party and he is the reason why they stayed in power so long and the reason why they lost it so abruptly last week. he was evil but this has to be said: he left his mark on the world once he left it.

I watched this doccumentary and I thought it was heartbreaking to see how he ended up but it was indeed a lesson in instant Karma.
I did want to see more footage of the students at Howard University wilding out and protesting when he was assigned to the board of directors..
