Ok people, digg this:
Both you and a young lady/guy seem to have an interest in each other. Aside from all the sexual undertone that may be there (sometimes with women, but more often with dudes), what is your idea of a perfect date?

Hmmmm...that's tricky, Big Rueb. Because you really have to identify the common interests of the two people in question. However, since you said "your idea of a perfect date", I'll respond accordingly;)
My idea of a perfect date is one which the brotha' plans and pays (smile). But seriously, my date needs to plan something creative and at place where we can have good conversations. One of my most memorable dates took me to the Schomburg Museum (Harlem). We had great conversations (flirting in between photos of Betty Shabazz)about Malcolm X, heard MC Lyte at a book signing and had a fish sandwich at Jimbo's. It was great! But, that was MY IDEA of a perfect date...probably wouldn't work for other people. By the way, that date planned and paid;)
Love question #1...keep 'em comin'!
Well, Donna.....
That was actually Question #2, but I forgot to post Monday under the QOTD title. :(
Nonetheless, thanks. I'm sure all the responses will be different depending on how horny or materialisic one might be at the time. LOL
Sharing something we both enjoy together.. e.g. one of my best dates ever was going to a museum opening with a guy that had the same geeky interest in art and history that I do. Sheer perfection I tell you..
can't speak about a perfect date-depends on the context of how you met and interests- but will agree with Donna in that an essential is the guy plans and pays. this is a time to show your peacock feathers (which doesn't imply material goods, just that you can be creative, think, and have class enough to treat me, as it is me assessing whether you are worth my time).
I'm an impulse guy, but I see the importance of planning and how it is appreciated by the sistas of this panel. My perfect date would be to go somewhere we both never been. Somewhere quiet, not too crowded, but interesting. Then we can go somewhere for dinner and more conversation. I won't keep her out too long and hopefully we'd learn about each other and from each other. Don't want to rush things..just take it slow and appreciate the time we have together.
