Question of the Day (9-Dec)

In the news........

People, ya know...............politicians never cease to amaze me. Growing up on the southside of Chicago, I'm very well familiar with the corruption and scandals that have gone on in/outside of the city. Chicago, The Windy City, gets its name not from being so close to the lake and the air/wind that blows creating that "Hawk" that will cut through and around the corners of The Loop's tall buildings, but from the notorious "lip service" of the city's politicians. Whether they were aldermen, congressmen, mayors, governors, or other city, state, or U.S. officials, none have been exempt from scrutiny. And since I've been cognisant of the state of affairs in the city and other cities and governments across the country and world, Chicago has forever been linked to corruption, manipulation, blackmail, and con artists. Whether it be launching the Chicago Police to take out the charismatic Fred Hampton of the Black Panthers, to indicting the young Blackstone Ranger Jeff Fort on embezzlement charges (money allocated by the city to him and out of his direct control by the way), to the suspicious death of Chicago's first Black Mayor Harold Washington, to the almost limitless terms of a father and son named Mayor Daley (he's still the mayor after almost 20 yrs).

All this being said, on the heels of electing our first Black President from the same state, this fool Governor Blagojevich is caught trying to auction off Obama's senate seat to the highest bidder, essentially. Then with the dialogue and commentary from this dude, my, how so many of these cats think they are above being caught. I mean.... this dude was talking like he was Don Corleone or some other mob boss. What do these cats be thinkin'? Share your thoughts b/c this dude done went off.

We know that the consequences will be great, but quite minimal to someone like myself or anyone that doesn't have the kind of doe and clout to get us off such charges. How should we really handle these kinds of characters?

.......and digg that hairpiece. Lookin' like a young Donald Trump protege.

These politicians believe they are above the law...Funny, four have gotten caught this year(NY gov, Alaska-senator, IL gov and the gay senator in the airport bathroom-Larry Davis??) but hundreds are doing worse. It kills me that these individuals that lack character, integrity, and morals become law makers, changers, and enforcers..

I hope Jesse Jackson, Jr. #5--isn't as stupid as I think to promise funds to the governor if he wins the Senate seat.

I pray Barack is as clean as he appears to be. They all can go down...just not him.

ya think he would have had a clue that the FBI is cracking down on political corruption.. I would have thought that these politicians would be scared straight since the Elliot Spitzer and Kwame Killpatrick debacles. tsk tsk tsk
