KELLS FOUND NOT GUILTY - Now I know how white people felt when O.J. was acquitted!

Singer and amateur video maker, R. Kelly was found not guilty on all charges related to child pornography last Friday, June 13th. As I write this, I still can't believe this man got off. Did the jury consist of blind people or just 12 pedophiles? I saw the tape so I know they must have too. The only people not to have seen that tape was Kells and that 14 year old girl he peed on. Actors rarely watch themselves when the film is done.

You know what I really found weird? The fact that Black women and/or Al Sharpton were nowhere to be found. There were no protests, no calls to take his music off the air or at least ban teenage girls from his concerts. What's really scary is the fact that Black women seem to like him more AFTER the fact. It's like something about him peeing on that girl turned them on. It's like once they saw him pee then jerk off they were wishing that girl could be them.

Some women have even go so far as to say that despite the girl's young age (14) that Kells shouldn't be convicted because the girl was a pro. That she wanted it. That if it was rape then she wouldn't have been such an enthusiastic partner. She wasn't a rookie. WHAT? Is that how Black women defend each other? I don't care if she was a prostitute, she was still UNDERAGE.

Black women blame everyone but Kells himself. That girl's parents are to blame they say. If they raised her the right way then she wouldn't have let herself get peed on. Or if they do blame Kells they go to the #1 COP OUT of all time, "I can separate the man from the music." I wonder if that "man" was white and had been captured on tape peeing then jerking off on an underaged Black girl would they have separated the man from the music?

Where are the women? Where are the Sharpton and Jackson led protests? Now remember these are the same women that got their panties in a bunch when Don Imus called the Rutger's girls basketball team a bunch of "Nappy Headed Hoes." They said he was a racist, they called for his job, they even got him fired. Where are they now? The silence is deafening. This is why white people and the rest of the American community don't take our protests seriously. We look foolish.

Here's what Black women and Al Sharpton are saying with their silence:
It's wrong for a white man to call a Black girl a nappy headed hoe but it's okay for a Black man to pee on one.

It's kind of like defending your family...if other people talk bad about your fam, then you fight, protest, and argue. But if Uncle Kells does something nasty...you just don't want to talk about it.

He shouldn't have been convicted. Should have been EXECUTED
on the spot.

Al Sharpton should be pissed on.

Roc... I couldn't even read this whole entry. R kelly is a pedophile no matter what the court ruling may be. Anyone who defends him is a LOSER. Moreover, I personally look down on people who still listen to his music.. his muse is a pre-pubescent girl for goodness sake!

anyone that would still support this asshole is sick too. i wouldn't buy his albums, go to his shows...nothing! he was never THAT hot to me anyway so this just sealed the deal. that little girl's daddy, brothers, uncles, friends, cousins - EVERYBODY should have got together and kicked his ass. we should have known he was sick when he was rumored to have married Aaliyah when she was 15!

Long as he keeps making hot records cats will let it slide. Shit's sad.

I've never respected his music so I can't consider myself a fan enough to want to support him. Does anyone remember "Feelin' on Your Booty"? Straight garbage. That yodeling at the end alone should have landed him in court.
But I digress. Several things are going on here that are much deeper than R Kelly and this pathetic situation:
It was obvious the girl was young from the way she was winding her body around. And if it was obvious to us viewers with that grainy ass video tape, then we know it was obvious to him.
Are her parents at fault? Sure, but aren't there a whole lot of parents at fault? We currently live in a highly sexualized society where you can find sex being used to sell everything from music to shoes. If we continue to support the products in this society that push this inappropriate material on our youth, then aren't we all to blame?
And as a community, the silence is truly deafening because we aren't outraged. We aren't outraged because this wasn't "our" daughter, so we somehow feel that it isn't "our" problem.
If we don't all have a hand in taking back our children's innocence, then we have all let R. Kelly be acquitted...not just the 12 pedophiles sitting on the jury.

Why are you focusing on the Black woman? So Black men shouldn't have been equally as upset??? Cuz Sharpton has a perm he is excused?

Timing is everything. In the world that we live in...outta sight, outta mind. This case took WAY too long. People forgot about that DVD and nobody cares anymore.
Anyone who has worked in the music industry knows too well that foul, illegal stuff happens on a DAILY basis. It is what it is. He was wrong, he shouldn't have gotten off, but he did.
