My Favorite Gay Guy (No Homo) Billy Strayhorn

Saw this documentary on PBS. It was about Billy Strayhorn the dude that actually wrote the Duke Ellington hits. He composed, "Take the A-train". Besides the fact that he was a Black man living in America during the early 20th century he was an open Homosexual living among African Americans. But his talent lay in the way that he composed the hits that Duke Ellington played. He was the man and one of the most talented men living on Earth. He would die in his early fifties but his music will live and love on forever.

A-Train is one of my all time favourites! It is the definition of jazz to me.
