Wow. After hearing Mary's rendition of The star spangled banner I now know how white people feel when they hear someone sing the song like they are in a corner church? Can someone tell me why did Mary feel the need to take her shades off during her performance? Didn't she realize that she was singing the national anthem not the hook on "Cant knock the hustle" with Jay - Z? I love Mary but she was a tad bit over the top on this one. But on a positive it's nice to see Mary be at a place in her career where she can sing a song that is symbolic of America. She, hip - hop and r and b have come a long long long way. Peace.
