What kind of bullshit awards show is the Emmys? How can you have an awards show and The Wire not be nominated? When the Sopranos ended their run, the Television Academy went out of their way to kiss the asses of that Mafia show. Is the Wire not getting recognized because the majority of the cast are African - American? Are they getting ignored because the subject matter of drugs, violence and poverty wasn't glamorized or made funny? Was the show ignored because the people that vote just didn't watch it? Whatever the reason the fact of the matter is the Emmys this year will be a travesty. The Wire was hands down the best show on television while it was on. Period. The actors from the wire should just bumrush the stage ODB style when the award for best show is announced. Long live the wire. Fuck the Emmys.
