SHOTS FIRED- LIL WAYNE ANSWERS JIGGA'S "BABY MONEY" LINE

Finally Weezy has grown some balls and came back at Jigga Man for his line about Baby. For what it is worth I don't think it is any argument about who is the better rapper. But Weezy is reckless and Jay is a married man over 40 and more inclined to lay back so you never know what is going to happen. Usually in these circumstances Jay does not respond to dis tracks but this time he probably most certainly will. Wayne basically calls Beyonce a bitch and threatens to kidnap her in his lyrics. I don't know how real the beef is - Wayne's album is coming out at the end of the month .

I Can't Fight This Anymore... I Like DRAKE

I know he is from Toronto, a former child actor, part Jewish. I know all these things but at the end of the day I have to admit that he is making good music and the throne is his for the taking. Deal With it. I have.

I Can't Hate On This Anymore

I usually have a problem with 25/20's rapping. I always wonder if they are making fun of the genre. But this chick, Kreayshawn is killing it. Word is that she has a seven - figure deal. King Russell says he doubts it but the fact that someone even repeated it speaks to how crazy the rap industry is. With that being said though, this song kicks! And I have to admit ( Sorry Black Girls ) I do find her attractive in a sort of "I ran away from home, am addicted to pills and will do anything to score" kind of way. Let me know what you think. What do you think, is Kreayshawn here to stay or is she on a one way ticket to obscurity or even worse, the "27" club?
Enjoy!

Flying Lotus

This guy's video makes me want to get some of that green green and just spark!

Rick Ross is cool but wait a minute...

Wasup with the New York Dick riding that I'm seeing? I'm looking at this Rick Ross video and it is incredible that I see nothing but New York dudes co - signing! WTF? There was a time when Florida dudes couldn't come up here and shoot a video and get all the love. Damn. What's even crazier is that Styles P. is on the song and Jada Kiss is in the video riding in the Maybach with Rozay! I personally don't like this Dick riding! I don't mind artists supporting an artist but how come they don't do that for New York artists? This video is like a "Who's Who" of New York artists. Remember when The Lox left Diddy because they said he was trying to sell them out and that they weren't street enough? Well - look where they are now. Back with Diddy and selling out with an artist that isn't even in their camp. They could have stayed with Diddy kept their publishing and kept some change in their pocket if they were going to do this. I wonder if either of them thought of this while they were involved in this project!

Let's get it going!

Wasup dog? It is almost June. The time flies like a motherfucker. This month has been crazy: Betty White on SNL, L.T., an attempted Muslim car bomber and a real fucked up oil spill. It may be time for me to go to church AND IT IS ONLY THE MIDDLE OF MARCH. The world is coming to an end. It has to be. I just saw Jay Z and Beyonce at the Yankee game. Are you serious? At the freaking Yankee game? Hip Hop started in The Bronx and now it dies there. When Jay Z and Beyonce are part of the "crowd shot" shot list you know that times have changed. "Okay put me on Jay Z and Beyonce and cut back to the game. " Wow, Remember when it was not cool to rap? Now it gets you on television. God Bless progress?

I WOULD BEAT I KIND OF LIKE KENDRA NOW

When a White girl can p - pop like this, you have to like her...For the first time in my life I want to be Hank Baskett!

Damn I am going to really miss this dude...(No Guru)

Before this week if someone asked me who my favorite rapper was I would never have said, "GURU". Now if someone asked me to name one of my favorite groups, "Gang Starr" would definitely be name - checked. But for some reason when the news hit that Keith Elam, AKA Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal had died, I all of a sudden thought of him as one of my favorite MC's. And with further news coming that he was suspected to be in a love affair with another man I was really confused. I had to ask myself some questions:
Should I no longer like this guy because he may have been a homosexual?
Should his lyrics make me feel any different because he may have lived an "alternative lifestyle"? What would that say about me? As I came to grips with the reality of Guru's death and speculation concerning his personal life I pumped Gang Starr in my car and reminisced about the times when I first heard his lyrics.
The time when I had first heard Manifest on MTV Raps.
The time when my white friend, Jesse Sandler - who at the time was way more Hip Hop than I was - played "Soliloquy Of Chaos" for me on his Walkman (That's right I said Walkman).
The time when my college buddies, Leo Vasquez and Dus Brown broke down the intricacies of Preemos beats and Guru's lyrics. The time when I bought Moment of Truth and I was feenin' to hear Above The Clouds.
I say all that to say that his music was, is and will always be great. He was awesome and he will be missed. A little bit of Hip - Hop died on April 19th. Peace!

Looks like Cam was right after all

lloyd Banks's new single, "Beamer, Benz or Bentley" featuring Juelz Santana is definitely hot. But what I think is the bigger story is the fact that Lb, the "puchline King" is working his song independently. No major label pushing it all according to Banks who was on the the Ed Lover podcast. Lloyd Banks was saying that being independent is great for him. He was saying that independence has made his career more flexible. Remember when Cam and 50 had their beef? The whole thing started because 50 was talking shit about Koch (now EMI?) records and how their independent deal situation was like a "graveyard" for artists. 50 said that once you do things independently your career as an artist was dead. Isn't it funny how times have changed? Now that Banks is off Interscope and has been cut loose from Jimmy Iovine's money pipeline he is championing the virtues of independence. Now would 50 say his career is dead? What would that say about Fif's prospects? Looks like Cam was right after all.

Wow! (I don't mean that in a good way either)

Wow. I first saw this chick on my other blog that I write with The Mighty O, AArenas' Revenge. This chick Xclusive leaves nothing to the imagination with her lyrics. It's songs like these that make me realize why Oprah hates rap.

Finally..Hip Hop I can be proud of

This is that new new. Thanks to my partner in blog, The Mighty O for putting me on to this...It's Reflection Eternal featuring Jay Electronica, J. Cole and Mos Def. Please someone get someone to direct this shit PRONTO ENJOY:

Ladies and Gentlemen: Young Money

How many of these Young money representatives will actually get to record a solo or group project. I say three. Drake, lloyd and Minaj. Then someone will fuck the wrong person and then the break up will begin. I am sorry but hip hop history tells us that these things never end well. The combination of too many egos +too many dicks (No Bruno) and way too many drugs usually equal collapse and the inevitable, "remember when they ( fill in blank of roc crew, wu- tang, hot boys, g unit ) were running the shit out of the game? It's a shame how they broke up." I feel good for Jae Mills because he seemed to have landed on his own two feet. You can't be a free styler all the time. Hopefully he is ghostwriting for baby or something. Oh well, let's enjoy it while it lasts:

It's called Grime

First saw this on one of the hip hop blogs that I frequent DC TO BC. The style is called Grime and it is from England. Thank God someone has given Hip Hop something new. The fast - rapping and the accent makes it hot. If the dudes from this side of the pond could get a handle of Grime Hip Hop would be going somewhere. I think Cam'ron could do this. A side note: Apparently Tim Westwood is the English version of Funkmaster Flex.
