SHOTS FIRED- LIL WAYNE ANSWERS JIGGA'S "BABY MONEY" LINE

Finally Weezy has grown some balls and came back at Jigga Man for his line about Baby. For what it is worth I don't think it is any argument about who is the better rapper. But Weezy is reckless and Jay is a married man over 40 and more inclined to lay back so you never know what is going to happen. Usually in these circumstances Jay does not respond to dis tracks but this time he probably most certainly will. Wayne basically calls Beyonce a bitch and threatens to kidnap her in his lyrics. I don't know how real the beef is - Wayne's album is coming out at the end of the month .

Watch The Throne - New Single OTIS

At first one might think that OTIS, the name of the first single ( let's not count H.A.M shall we) from Kanye West (Ye) and Jay - Z's (J) vanity project, Watch The Throne is a horrible name. Why name it that? But after listening to the track you realize that the title comes from the fact that the production is HEAVILY jacked from the song "Try a Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding (RIP). Already Ye and J with a name title succeed in making their audience feel stupid and beneath them. Not a good way to start a relationship fellas. In reality, unless this album sounds like a combination of the best of College Dropout, The Blueprint, The Black Album and Graduation while taking the risks of 808's and Heartbreaks, Kingdom Come with the polish of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and the soul of The American Gangster album all while selling a gazillion albums it won't be successful. This by all measures is a Super Album. Two of the biggest stars in the game, not just today but of all - time are collaborating. Not just on a couple of songs but a full length album. There is no way that there won't be a letdown. This isn't just a record by Rick Ross, Drake and Lil Wayne on some Lex Luger throway beat for a random mixtape but a conscious effort at pushing the boundaries of the pop and hip hop. Even their shoulders are not that wide to carry all that weight. Give Ye and J credit for trying, but I can't see where they either can begin to match or reach the expectations they set for their project. As a Stan fan I hope I am wrong but I have a feeling that through no fault of their own this project was doomed from the beginning.
Here is a link to the track and the track listing of the album.

Let's get it going!

Wasup dog? It is almost June. The time flies like a motherfucker. This month has been crazy: Betty White on SNL, L.T., an attempted Muslim car bomber and a real fucked up oil spill. It may be time for me to go to church AND IT IS ONLY THE MIDDLE OF MARCH. The world is coming to an end. It has to be. I just saw Jay Z and Beyonce at the Yankee game. Are you serious? At the freaking Yankee game? Hip Hop started in The Bronx and now it dies there. When Jay Z and Beyonce are part of the "crowd shot" shot list you know that times have changed. "Okay put me on Jay Z and Beyonce and cut back to the game. " Wow, Remember when it was not cool to rap? Now it gets you on television. God Bless progress?

Just Blaze: Hip Hop Personified

In the annals of rap music alot of producers get respect. Kanye, Primo, Dre and Skateboard P. just to name a few. But someone who does not get snough respect in my mind is Just Blaze. Just Blaze has not only crafted hits but he has also been at the forefront of the rocafella sound without the ego that came along with West's beat - making. His beats are both soulful and HARD (NO BRUNO). He is like the perfect mix between Kanye and Primo. I also love the fact that he is both a lo head and a gamer. Here is an interview that I spotted on Cocaine Blunts (Noz stand up) from Nahright. In this clip Blaze talks about life at the famed Baseline recording studio when the roc was getting it poppin'. Enjoy:

Oh those were the days

Leave it up to my homie (in my head) from cocaine blunts to post the old school rap shit that made me think this thing would last forever. Here are some old freestyles from The Dynasty days when Jay, free, beans and bleek were ripping shit on the M.I.C. Holler!

It's official - Jay Z is the best rapper dead or alive

With all due respect to MF Doom and Mos Def, Jay Z is the number one dude. That concert on America's Holy Day of September 11 was final proof that Hova is the best ever. He had a star studded lineup, the country's attention and he brought the HEAT! For all of those that throw shots at Jigga, myself included, it must be said that no other rapper today, for the exception perhaps of Kanye West could sellout a theater in like 15 minutes and then get the star studded line up, produce a CLASSIC album all and stay on the radar all at the same time. I love Big, Kris and Rakim and Todd but this dude is the one and to deny that fact would be to deny that the sky is blue and that water is wet. New York Stand Up!

Random Blogging: JAY Z needs to stop hating on AUTOTUNE

Someone needs to tell Jigga that he needs to stop hating on Auto tune. If young kids want to listen to that then so be it. They are trying to eat. Why does Jay think that he needs to be the only person that can make money making records. I actually like Kanye's record but I am not a big fan of Auto tune. But then again I am going on 35 I shouldn't like it. Jay is older than me, he shouldn't give a fuck about the rest of the teenage contingent and what they like. He should fall back and let these young men and women eat. dude you are already fucking Beyonce you can't let anyone else live?

Do You Remember when Jay Z was raw and NOT SO CORPORATE?

Here is some video from Youtube that I first saw on cocaineblunts.com. It is video from what can now be called The Old Rocafella days when Bleek, Beans, Amil and Jay was ripping shit!. Like the post on cb said one can has forgotten the time when you could see the biggest rapper in the game at a rap club. Jay and his crew were performing in front of less than 1000 people. That will never happen again. Long ago are the days when your biggest rapper would be performing in a club and be happy to do it. Check out old Roc a fella affiliate Pain In Da Ass start the show off. ENJOY:
