How is the oil spill President Obama's fault exactly?

I have been listening to the reaction by some on the right and some on the left when it comes to President Obama's reaction to BP's oil spill and I am shocked at some of the reaction critical of our President. What do they want him to do; Magically stop the oil leak with his brain? No matter what they think President Obama is still a man. He does not have superpowers. The blame lies solely on the greedy shoulders of the energy companies that secured policy that made regulation of their dirty industry almost null and void. BP (British Petroleum - didn't our country fight a war against The British? Why are they drilling off U.S. shores?) needs to clean this shit up no matter what the cost. Then they need to donate a portion (call it a tax if you want) of whatever profits they make to the people of Louisiana. Something they should have been doing anyway. This way the shores and the Gulf can be clean (or at least cleaner then it was before the oil spill) and the people of New Orleans can get the help they deserve that they still have not gotten. Peace!

Chinese killings are making me think strange thoughts...

Has anyone been following the recent Chinese attacks lately? It is really weird! For some reason in the last two months, Chinese men have been stabbing and killing pre - schoolers and the administrators that run their schools. In articles and television news reports the speculation is that the attacks have been caused by the rapid change in lifestyle in China. Could be, but I think the reason behind these killings are alot simpler: Chinese people are still looking for the CHOSEN ONE. The one that knows Karate or something like that. In these rural towns Chinese people don't have X RAY machines, Karate tournaments or I.Q. tests. So instead of finding the one the civilized way, they feel they have to chase some poor 4 year old going to school to see if he's unbreakable. America has to really help these Chinese men and women out that live in the rural areas. They are behind in the times and still living in the stone age.

I can no longer defend this...

I want to make some things very clear: I am not Bill Cosby, I am not anyone's mother, I am not the fashion police. I am not some boo - zhee African - American that suffers from self - hatred or some Uncle Ruckus - like secret desire to be white. I am just a dude with an opinion, a computer and some free time.

With that being said, I can no longer defend the saggy pants. NO WAY! I like my pants baggy too but this new shit is getting ridiculous. It's like for the past 6 months boys and some grown ass men have begun to drop their pants about six inches lower.

They look crazy. And what's worse is that the teenagers are being allowed to dress this way. Some of them are not even legal age. They have parental supervision. Men over 25 dressing like this is past insane. This trend begs the questions: Why are these boys so close to taking their pants off? Why are these boys literally and figuratively showing their ass? What is that about? Do they want to give it to someone? Are they on something completely different?

At first, when the pants were just baggy and sagging just a little, before the time when the upper class elite Blacks would vilify this trend, I thought, "It's just a trend, a style, let it got."
But now I can't even say that.

Sports Op -Eds: William C. Rhoden

William C. Rhoden feels that Tiger Woods' hiding and that the damage being done to his reputation has alot to do with the fact that he has not come out publicly and addressed the situation to the public.

If his representatives think this statement will put out the fire, they are wrong.
They have been wrong for 17 days. Anyone with compassion feels for the Woods family. But this was simply another carefully manicured statement shaped by high-priced image consultants and high-powered lawyers.

I like to read Rhoden because I like to believe that he has his finger on both the pulse of the core readers of The Times - predominantly white, progressive to upper middle class - and the Black readers that read the Times as well. No to mention that he still lives in Harlem and I see him more than I see a say Mike Lupica who is a total Dick Head!
