Grant Hill Wins Again!

Somewhere Uncle Tom Grant Hill is laughing. Jalen Rose, after pleading guilty to a drunk driving charge that occurred in March of this year, was sentenced to 20 days in jail.

His lawyer, Keith Davidson did not like the sentence given to his client. He believes that the Judge in the case was grandstanding.

One of his attorneys, Keith Davidson, wasn't so contrite, railing against the sentence handed down by 48th District Court Judge Kimberly Small.

"This was nothing less than an elected judge legislating from the bench," said Keith Davidson. "This is a man who has given millions of dollars to charity, started schools around the world and worked endlessly for the community, yet her average sentence is 17 days, and she sentenced Mr. Rose to 20 days.

That is why these two guys are a great recruiting tool for the KKK. If you want to figure out a way swell the ranks of men raising their hand in the air screaming "white power" then you should just show these two together, pop in a DVD of either one of their reality shows or just listen to them talk. What's even crazier is that the team they are on is practicing in Kentucky. Are they trying to start an all - out race war?

R.I.P. George Steinbrenner but wait a minute....

As much as I love The New York Yankees, I have to keep the death of George Steinbrenner in some sort of perspective: Even though I don't wish death on many people except those I find truly reprehensible (I'm looking at your grave Jesse Helms) the truth must be told about George Steinbrenner: He was a bit of a liar. A cheat. A jerk. Reading his biography written by Bill Madden, one has to scratch their head when people are forced to go through the predictable dick suck that happens when someone famous and powerful dies. But the collective George Steinbrenner dick suck was out of control. At one point I thought I was going to see reports that said that George Steinbrenner freed the slaves, invented fire and split the atom. When you really break down the Yankees success the truth is that they won when he was the least involved. The less he was involved the more success his team had. He was the check writer. The fact is, his reputation changed when he was no longer able to speak. He went from ogre to crazy curmudgeon overnight. I liked George Steinbrenner but i liked the man he was and not the man the media wanted him to be after his death.

I am glad that someone said what I said but no one else heard. Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, in his statement on his team's website acted like he owned Lebron and like Lebron owed him something besides the seven years of play on the court and the hundreds of millions of dollars that Lebron already made for him. Fuck Dan Gilbert. Lebron wanted to leave. Get over it! Why is Jesse Jackson the only man that went on the record with the slave - master relationship that Dan Gilbert portrayed when he made his statement? Why is a man over 70 making this statement? Where is Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson? Why aren't they coming to Lebron James' defense in choosing where he wants to play? What kind of men are they? I thought Charles was outspoken? I thought he was the militant Black athlete that said what was ever on his mind. So why is it that the only statement he makes is a statement crtitcal of the chosen one? What part of the game is that, Chuck? Michael Jordan now an owner still pretends like he is a player looking for his next contract. Why isn't he saying anything to refute Gilbert's statements? And only something that is a shot at James. And Earvin? Where is he? Where is the guy that can stop the world with his smile? Quiet. And so it's left to Jesse Jackson, an old man in the game to come to the defense of a 25 year old multi - millionaire. This is why Black men can never work together because they rarely get each other's backs in moments like this. The old heads should be ashamed of their behavior. I am!

Well now that Tiger Woods is on the leaderboard at Augusta I have to say that there is one person that should get all the credit; BUDDHA. Tiger Woods said during his infamous press conference in February that he was going to go back to the teachings of Buddha. I, like alot of others thought that he was full of shit but after seeing him smash the coarse and put himself on the leaderboard I kind of want to turn to Buddha too. And I bet so do the other pros on the tour. How bad must they feel? Tiger Woods has been gone for 6 months and he is still better than they are! If Tiger Woods wins this thing the wives of the professional golfers had better kiss their marriages goodbye. If fucking 20 women will get you a major the other guys on the tour are going to fuck 40 women because Tiger is double the golfer they are. If you are in last place you have to feel bad because you didn't even cheat on your wife and you still in last place. Buddha is going to have a lot of converts from the world of professional golf if this keeps up.

Sports Op -Eds: William C. Rhoden

William C. Rhoden feels that Tiger Woods' hiding and that the damage being done to his reputation has alot to do with the fact that he has not come out publicly and addressed the situation to the public.

If his representatives think this statement will put out the fire, they are wrong.
They have been wrong for 17 days. Anyone with compassion feels for the Woods family. But this was simply another carefully manicured statement shaped by high-priced image consultants and high-powered lawyers.

I like to read Rhoden because I like to believe that he has his finger on both the pulse of the core readers of The Times - predominantly white, progressive to upper middle class - and the Black readers that read the Times as well. Why is Mike Vick still not playing Football yet?

I am getting tired of the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. REAL TIRED! He doesn't want to let Mike Vick play even though he has already served more than two years in prison. Why on Earth can't he play? What the hell does he need to do? He already gave up two years of freedom and salary and Goodell is splaying games with his life. This is why our kids have to stop becoming athletes. Because they don't understand that no matter how much money and fame they gain they still won't be FREE. Poor A - Rod. He can never get a brake. This is the only guy in sports that can make news when he's home not doing nothing to nobody. For those of you that care and are into sports and baseball in particular, former Yankees manager Joe Torre is releasing a book about his 12 years as The New York Yankee manager. Torre has managed to throw Alex Rodriguez under the bus and the truck and anything else that is too heavy to be on top of someone.

In this book Clueless Joe manages to paint A- Rod as a numbers whore (someone that just cares about their stats) and a phony personality (claims that he would say one thing to the media and another in the locker room are legend).

According to the book written by Tom Verducci A- Rod was something of a diva. Not totally new information but it is shocking to see Torre break the clubhouse code: Not to repeat anything you see or hear in the locker room. Torre is mad that The Yankees played him with their last contract offer (one year, lame duck status) and this move seems like payback. Personally, I thought it was time for Torre to go since he let the Red Sox take four in a row and clinch the ALCS in Yankee stadium. He was lucky they didn't let him go sooner. But this move seems like some bitch shit.

As for A- Rod, he better win a ring soon because if he doesn't he is going to be known as the guy that couldn't come through in the clutch as well as the guy that willingly fucked Madonna when she was over 50 - more than once!
